My Birthday Paradise
All I wanted for my birthday this year was to go camping. We wanted to go all year and haven't been able to find time. The one time we tried to go this year we found 4 to 5 feet of snow in all the places we could have camped. :-( So, we were very excited to FINALLY get out of the city and share some time with each other and nature. We had such a great time. We got up there about 3 on Friday, my birthday, and got everything set up. We did a lot better packing this time than the last time we "tried" to go camping. And we bought this big new tent the beginning of this year that we got to try out for the first time. Landon used his boyscout skills and built us a perfect little fire to cook our tinfoil dinners on. I won't lie, they were absolutley fantastic. For those of you who use cream of chicken soup you should give broccolli cheese soup a try. It was mAgIcaL! Then of course we had to make the famous campfire smores. Yum! We brought up our DVD player to watch movies while we went to bed at night. I had thought I was charging the DVD player the whole day before, but it was on the wrong setting and didn't charge it at all. So, less than half way through the movie it shut off. We got some blankets and headed up to the car to watch the rest of it, while having it plugged into the car. :-) The next day we woke up and ate some cereal for breakfast and took the dogs on a little adventure. It was Moosey's first time in the mountains so you can only imagine how excited and curious he was. Mia always has a great time when we take her out like that so they were both like two little kids hyped up on a pound of sugar. We drove up to a pretty pond we know of and let the dogs run around and get dirty. We finally got Mia to swim!!!~~~~~~~ She is a real lab now! :-) We were very proud parents. Moosey on the other hand was a little prissy dog and would barely go in past the middle of his legs. That's okay though. We love them for those little differences. Landon would throw a stick out far enough in the water where Mia barely couldn't touch so she'd have to swim the rest of the way to get it. Then Moose would be waiting for her on the beach ready to take the stick from Mia. Mia is a good big sister. She'd let Moose take it and bring it to us, taking all the glory, without too much of a fuss. It is so beautiful up there right now, especially at those ponds. I got to take some pretty pictures. Landon always says that I spend too much time taking pics and not enough time paying attention to him. lol After our adventure at the ponds we got the wet and very dirty dogs back in the Escape and headed back to camp. We were planning on staying that night also, but when we got back we saw and heard the gray rumbling clouds rowling in. We didn't want to have to pack all our stuff up the next day soaking wet so we hurry and packed up everything in the escape in about fifteen minutes. Even though the trip was cut short we were so glad we were able to go. I couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday, in the beautiful mountains with the man that I love. :-) The best way to explain this adventure is....MY BIRTHDAY PARADISE.

The pictures of the fallen leaves are beautiful! Looks like so much fun. Dang weather it can mess up plans fast.
Happy belated birthday. Sounds like you guys had a pretty good time. Is that the same camp spot we went to up Farmington Canyon that one time? That's the best one.
Fun pictures!
