Remembering You Always
I know I am way too far behind to even think about trying to still blog about what I have missed, but I am going to do it anyway. I especially can't pass over this. We are coming up on the two year reunion of when my family lost a special angel to breast cancer. On the one year mark of her passing we all got together at my mom's club house and celebrated her life. We all wrote her a note on a balloon and released them outside. Shellie was my second cousin. She was like an aunt to me. I miss her very much and think about her and her family she left behind all the time. I think of how serious the horrible disease of breast cancer can be and how quickly it can take your life away. Most of the women in my family carry the cancer gene. And more than one of them have had some sort of cancer, some more than once. I look at my family as a great example to stay aware of my health and to be proactive about knowing my body. Shellie was only 38 when she passed away. The one thing that comforts me in that horrible thought is that she is now with our Heavenly Father. He loves her and us. I know it is probably hard for her kids to understand, but she is still with them in their hearts. I can feel her watch over all of us and help to keep us on the straight and narrow pathway so that someday we may all be able to return to our Heavenly Father and be with her once again. We love you and miss you everyday Shellie! XOXO
