Old Friends......New Adventures
After we got back from our trip to Grandma T's in February we decided we needed another vacation. We decided to drive to Sacramento to visit our friends that moved there last year. Landon and Mike used to work together at Verizon when he was in Circuit City. We have missed them a ton while they have been gone so we were excited to get to spend some time with them. We ended up driving out there after work one night and drove through the night and through the worst snow storm we have ever experienced. The snow was falling so fast and in such big clumps that you couldn't even see 5 feet in front of the car. We had to turn off the headlights a few times just to get some visibility. We stopped in Reno to use the restroom about 3 am. We had to drive through Donner's Pass, which already had about 6 feet of snow and growing with the storm. I had to make myself go to sleep or I was going to have a nervous breakdown. We got to Mike and Hill's about 6:30am. We went right to sleep. It just so happened that a few days before our departure to Cali Mike was diagnosed with Diabetes and was deathly ill in the hospital. The poor guy was stuck in the hospital for the first two days we were there. When he got home he was still really weak so we decided we'd give them some alone time to rest. Landon surprised me by getting us a hotel in the heart of San Fransisco. We stayed in a beautiful hotel that charged a ridiculous amount to valet park your car. And you HAD to valet park your car there! Lame. Anyway, that night we ate at a cute little diner around the corner. The next morning we got up and did some shopping for a pair of rain shoes and an umbrella because it was raining. It just so happened right after we made our purchases we walked outside and the rain had stopped, of course. But, that's ok. I got a cute pair of boots out of it. ;-) We spent the day exploring all the beautiful sites San Fran had to offer. We walked down Lombard Street, rode a trolley, shopped at Fisherman's Warf, checked out all the old games in the fun house and saw Alcatraz from afar. We ate at Joe's Crab Shack and saw outside the window the famous tree guy. He sits by a garbage can and holds a fake tree and scares people. It was hilarious! He is apparently well known. He is on Youtube! It was great entertainment. We fell in love with San Fran. It was full of life and fun. We hope to make it back again someday.

Bday fun for Tommy & Landon
Landon and Tom's bdays are close to each other so we generally celebrate them together. I guess that's not bad considering September bdays share with about 6 others in this family. lol We had Debbie, Britt, Tom, Ryder, Steve, Heather, and Jack come over after we got home from our adventures at Grandma T's. We love it when we can all get together. You would think it would be easier for that to happen more often since we all live pretty close to one another, but life gets us all on the busy train. So, we cherish little moments like these when we can enjoy each other's company. : ) Happy 24th Tommy and Happy 27th my love!
